Meet the Staff!

We will be developing web pages showing examples of everyone's specialty.  Check back often to see the updated information.

Karen McSorley, art educator, has 38 years of experience teaching art to students of all ages.  She has a bachelor’s degree in science and art, and a master’s degree in art and art education from the University of Wisconsin.   Karen offers support in planning and integrating art into the curriculum, including workshops, demonstrations and individual consultations.  She will fire clay for teachers who don’t have access to kilns.  Look at some examples of Karen's work here!

 

Donna Moore, music educator, has 29 years of experience in teaching music and has taught in the gifted program.  She has a master’s degree in music education from UNM and has Levels I & II Orff Certification. Donna offers support in planning and integrating music into the curriculum, including workshops, demonstrations and consultations. She also helps locate songs and music for lessons and units.    Donna has some neat ideas here!

 

 

 

Cindy Wolf, Library-Media Specialist, is a teacher as well as a librarian. She has taught grades 1,2,3,5 & 6, as well as elementary gifted education. As a library-educator, she taught library classes at UNM. In addition to her classroom work, she is a certified art teacher. She will be happy to help with literature questions as they relate to classroom curriculum. Cindy asks that you look here for her ideas!

 



Sara Hutchinson has been involved in arts education for twenty-five years. For the last nine years she developed and directed the education component at the New Mexico Jazz Workshop, including “Roots of Jazz” and “Summer Jazz Camp,” an arts camp with visual and performing arts activities for children. Sara has her MA in Art Education and over 50 hours of dance coursework at the university level. She has taught dance in both educational and therapeutic settings, was a member of the Bill Evans Dance Company for over 10 years, and continues to teach tap at a private studio. Erin K. Hulse, a.k.a. “Drama Mama”, has taught for 15 years and for nine of those years she has been involved with the award winning UNM Wrinkle Writing program. She has her MA in Elementary Education and her Ed.S in Curriculum with an emphasis in Theatre Education. Erin is eager to help you begin to implement creative drama in your classroom or to assist you in expanding the program you already have.
